Welcome to Homestead!

Living in Michigan on 13 beautiful acres our family has been in this wonderful breed since the year 2000.  Some of our dogues are show dogues and some are strictly companions, but all are friends that we love dearly.

As you read through our site you'll see exceptional pedigrees as well as the beautiful type of our dogues.  They have unique and loving personalities that have stolen our hearts and have been captured in pictures as well,  we love to have fun!  We do obedience work with our dogues and they have impressed their instructors with their intelligence and wonderful dispositions.

In Oct. of 2000 we brought home our first Dogue de Bordeaux puppy, Francis, after wanting one for many years.  Though Francis was not the breeding/show dogue he was supposed to be, we fell deeply in love with him instantly.  He was neutered early on and became a very loving and integral part of our family.
Francis passed away this past June due to health problems and is sorrowfully missed, but it was because of Francis that our hearts were won over and we began our search for the lines with which to start our small breeding program.  We now have several dogues in our home, and our love for the breed has deepened with each dogue that has come to live with us.

Our goal is to produce an occasional litter striving for quality pups by concentrating on type, health, and temperament.  Our breedings are carefully chosen with betterment of the breed top priority not only through the dogues we choose but also through health testing.  Our breedings are chosen based on the results of their healthscreening as well as type, temperament, and lineage, a delicate balance that we know is not easy to achieve.

We have no problem with neutering a typey dogue with a good temperament if we feel they should not be bred, they will then live out their lives loved as pets in our home or with trusted friends.  We strive for good health in our pups by seeking this out in dogues we breed with and have had great success with our pups in doing so.  We stand behind all of our puppies and will always be here for their families.
We are proud of our Dogues!

We consider ourselves very fortunate to have the lines of dogues with which we feel we can accomplish our goal and are very excited about the future!
